Care-ability Healthcare is based in Washington, Tyne and Wear we are a family run independent business not accountable to shareholders. With a vast amount of combined experience from our staff we provide a huge range of products and services to the Healthcare industry specialising in patient lifting.
The founder and Director started his career in the Healthcare industry back in 1986 as a service engineer then with his technical background moved into a sales consultancy role and then into Dealer management all with the same organisation. Having had 12 years of learning the industry he felt it was time to create the brand as it is known today. Care-ability began trading in July 1998 with the vision of creating a new style of Dealer providing a service that would be unrivalled setting standards and benchmarks beyond our competitors. Originally based in a small unit in Houghton-le-Spring, providing a maintenance and breakdown service to several local nursing homes in the region. As the business and its reputation grew, demand for other products and services meant Care-ability established itself as the leading North-East dealer for several large hoist manufacturers.
In February 2002, relocation and a change in name was decided to demonstrate the range of products and size of the business, adding Healthcare to the Care-ability name. It was from here that the business expanded, winning various installation, service and maintenance contracts with several local authorities and hospitals.
Also in 2002 we started our manufacturing facility at our premises in Washington. All of our moving and handling products are designed and manufactured in-house using the very best laser technology available. Drawing on the experience of our moving and handling specialists, healthcare professionals and staff, our products are designed with the end user firmly in mind. Our range of Lifestyle slings and moving and handling products are a very popular choice with Healthcare professionals. Care-ability Healthcare also manufacture products for and on behalf of other Healthcare organisations to their own specification.
Our client base is predominantly spread across the North-East of England and Cumbria. We currently hold many large installation, service and maintenance contracts with local authorities, hospitals and private nursing homes. Further to this, our manufactured products are dispatched UK wide and into Europe with Care-ability Healthcare been a chosen provider manufacturing own branded products on behalf of several major healthcare companies.
Today, Care-ability Healthcare employ 47 members of staff and is rapidly growing year on year as demand for healthcare products and our services increases. In June 2012 we relocated the business to a larger premises in Washington. The potential which the new premises holds will allow us to further expand the different areas of the business and services we offer to our customers.
